Mothers Day was observed this morning by honoring each mother by presenting them with a beautiful flower in a pot to take home with them, to nourish and help it grow. This is the way Mothers have taken care of their children for many years! The mother recognized for having the oldest child was Margar…et Fields! The mother for having the most children was a tie between Lori Remi and Judy Vickers who each have five children. There are times when only a mother’s love can understand our tears, can soothe our disappointments and calm all of our fears. There are times when only a mother’s love can share the joy we feel when something we’ve dreamed about quite suddenly is real. There are times when only a mother’s faith can help us on life’s way and inspire in us the confidence we need from day to day. For a mother’s heart and a mother’s faith and a mother’s steadfast love were fashioned by the angels and sent from God above. Our faithful mothers teach us how to live up to the Standard which God expects us to live, it all goes back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Standard by which we will all be judged on Judgment Day. God is a just God and he knows that we all fall short of his standard. That is why Jesus took our punishment on the cross. It takes a Personal Relationship with Jesus which equals Salvation. Brother Jordan’s Sermon today was about “God’s Standard,” which is to be perfect as Jesus is perfect.
