Calhoun Baptist Church News September 1, 2013~
Rev. David Van Bebber Pastor:

Oh how happy we were to see Brother David as he walked into the Sanctuary
with only the assistance of his crutches this morning!
He opened our Worship Services with a hearty welcome and announced the upcoming events. He also introduced all of his family members who shared our worship services today. We were so pleased to have his brother Frank and three of his cousins with us this wonderful rainy Sabbath Day!
Brother Gerald Barrow was our Worship Leader as we sang our old familiar hymns. They were “Blessed Be the Name”, His Name is Wonderful”, and “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”, with the closing hymn being, “Room at the Cross”.
Brother David is continuing his sermons in the book of John Ch. 17:6-12 niv . In the 17th. chapter Jesus prays for his Disciples. This prayer is called ”The High Priestly Prayer.” They believed that the Father sent Jesus to the world to save all of us from an eternity of punishment for our sins.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

Jesus promises that in his Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

He is now sitting on the right hand of the Father interceding for our prayers. If you do not believe in your heart that this is true, there is not a room there for you yet. But there can be the moment that you believe!

Would you see how many Miracles you can see this week? You can court them one by one!

Keep your prayers going to the Father for our Pastor David and all of those who are on our “Prayer Concerns List”.
