Calhoun Baptist Church News, October 6, 2013~
Rev. David Van Bebber Pastor:
Once again we were blessed to have come into the house of the Lord to give thanks for all of our many blessings. We are very fortunate to live in a country where we can still worship the way we choose. Our Pastor David has been bringing his sermons from the book of Matthew for several weeks now. Jesus taught in Parables so much of the time when He was speaking to a crowd.
Matthew 13:31 -32 NABS was the Reading of the Word.
He presented another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air or sky come and nest in its branches.”
Jesus did not explain this parable to the people. Jesus spoke in Parables to the people because he knew they had already rejected him. They were spiritually dead and could not understand Him.
Thought for this week is: Putting our FAITH in God changes things in our lives.
