Calhoun Baptist Church News May 25, 2014~
Rev. David Van Bebber. Pastor:

We have so much to be thankful for this past year! Our Brother David and his magnificent recovery from the injuries he received from the fall of 50 feet last “Memorial Day.” It was one year ago on the 25th. of May while he was helping his Dad with his window washing business. The amazing things God has done through healing our Pastor David is a pure example of what an awesome God we have. We at Calhoun Baptist Church have been the people of God that have had the opportunity to witness a Miracle and know and feel Gods grace in which He can and will bestow upon us when we believe in the Power of Prayer with faith in what God can do. God worked through the best doctors performing many surgeries for Brother David when there seemed to be no hope of ever being able to walk again. He is walking now without assistance of any kind! We give God the glory and all of the praise for his mercies.
There is a lot more God has planned for this young man to do on this earth. He is using him for reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and with his testimony about his life and God’s goodness! This writer has seen through Brother David, a Holy Spirit lead minister, a praying minister and reaching the lost with preaching his sermons at our wonderful place of worship!

The reading of the Word today is from Luke Ch. 13:6-9 niv.

We have been learning about the Parables of Jesus.

Today’s Parable is, “Parable of the Fig Tree.”

“A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’ ‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
