Calhoun Baptist Church News December 14, 2014~

This morning we observed the 2nd. Sunday of Advent with the young people doing the reading and they lighted the next candle of Advent Wreath.
We started placing the beautiful Poinsettias on the Alter this morning. You can still bring your Poinsettia next Sunday so that it will be there for the Christmas Program and for the Candle Light Services on Christmas Eve.
Brother David’s message today was taken from the book of Acts Ch. 2:29-36 and the congregation stood in honor of the reading of the Word. The message was about,
“A Proper Response”
The Holy Spirit will lead us and will give us the right words. He will give us the proper words to speak when we are at a loss for words. When we believe in God through the Holy Spirit in whom Jesus sent to live within us. We will give the right response in every situation when Jesus is our Lord!

Events, Past and upcoming:
Saturday December 13th. Breakfast was prepared by Terry and Marry Barrow. Afterwards the ladies prepared Christmas Plates for those who are not able to attend church services. The men sacked the Christmas Candy for the Christmas Program which will be on Sunday, December 21st. with a performance at 11 AM and again at 6 PM in the Evening
On Wednesday December 24th.Christmas Eve Candlelight/ Advent Services at 6 PM
We have Sunday School @ 10:00
A Class for each Age Group-
Worship Services @ 11 AM-
Nursery for the little ones-
Youth Meeting on Sunday Evening @ 5:00 PM Except Business Mtg. or Special Occasion

Adult Bible Study on Wednesdays @ 700 PM
