There’s something about the name Jesus and we gathered to celebrate Him on Sunday morning. Our Pastor brought the message “The Christian Job Description” based on scripture from Acts 1:1-11. The holy spirit convicts for salvation and commissions us to work. Special power from the holy spirit proceeds us and is needed to become witnesses for Christ and bring someone to Him. It is perpetual.
We are so pleased to learn that little Caroline Wilson is doing well and is now home and young Emmett Heiserman had surgery this week which is part of his recovery. Please continue praying for them as well as Charlie Fields, Malachi Yoder, Derick Grear, Anna Myrtle Hansen, Ron and Evelyn Arthur, and Katlyn Gladfelter. We thank our Lord for his healing power.
Our unit of study in Gospel Kids is called God the Pursuer. This week the story was “God Called Jeremiah”. The big picture question is What is God like? God is slow to anger, merciful, and loving. All children ages 3 years through 6th grade are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.
Don’t forget about Celebrate Recovery every Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm with supper. At 6:30 pm large group worship begins and then at 7:30 pm small groups meet. We all have a habit, hurt, or hangup so feel welcome to join along. Baccalaureate service for Calhoun seniors will be held at our church on Sunday, May 5th at 2:00 pm. Please come and support these students. As another school year rapidly approaches, may we all remember the students, faculty, and staff in our prayers. Especially keep the seniors in mind as they end one aspect of their lives and embark on a new adventure.
We are gearing up for Vacation Bible School which will be held June 3-7. A light meal will be served at 5:30 and Bible School will be 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Bible stories, missions, games, crafts, music, fun, and friendship will be found during an action packed week. All children ages 3 years through 6 th grade are welcome to attend. We hope to see them there.
