Church News – May 31st

Acts 3:1-11 was the text for the sermon “The Leaping Lame Man”. If we’re going to reach the lost for Jesus, we must give them something they need. Peter and John did not give the lame man what he asked for but gave him what he needed. Above everything else in our life we need Jesus. If you don’t have Jesus nothing matters. The most important thing in life is Jesus.

Joe Richardson had a birthday on May 29th. Ken and Debbie Willings celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 24th. We wish them all many more.

Our prayers go out for Anna Myrtle Hansen, Ron and Evelyn Arthur, Katlyn Gladfelter, Jim and Shirley Bilbruck, Lisa Baker and Margaret Fields.. Remember in sympathy the Bonnie Manley family.

Gospel Kids will not be meeting during the summer months. We will resume when school begins in the fall.

Every Sunday evening at 5:30 pm Celebrate Recovery begins with supper. At 6:30 pm large group worship starts and then at 7:30 pm small groups meet. Lamentations 3:4 says “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.” CR Principle 4 asks us to openly examine and confess our faults to ourself, to God, and to someone we trust. Have you mistreated your mind, body, family or the church? Come be a part of CR.

Vacation Bible School begins next week and runs June 3-7. A light meal will be served at 5:30 and Bible School will be 6:00 – 9:00 pm. At Calhoun Baptist Church we are living, sharing, and telling the story of Christ. We invite you to come join us as we serve the Lord. Sunday School starts at 10:00 am and worship at 11:00 am.
