Church News – July 5th

Our congregation sang “America the Beautiful” as we prepare to celebrate our country’s birthday. How blessed we are to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Pastor Mark Abney gave the message “Signs and Wonders of Today” from Acts 5:12-16. Many miracles were being performed in those days. Do you believe God is still in the miracle business? He is still healing and performing miracles today. He listens to our prayers and answers them in the best possible way. God is still on His throne and deserves the honor and glory for any miracle.

Jeff Hollinger celebrated a birthday on June 27th. We wish him a very happy birthday. There were no anniversaries to celebrate this week.

Our pray concerns list remains long but God is at work. Please continue to mention in prayer the following people: Edwin Pogue, Ryan and Rosie Mantonya, Katlyn Gladfelter, Alyson Paul, and Colt Waggoner. We were delighted to see Shirley Bilbruck at church and feeling much better. God answers prayers so keep praying.

The fifth Sunday Singspiration was held at Calhoun Baptist and was well attended by several. Those in attendance were blessed with wonderful singing and music.

Celebrate Recovery meets every Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm with supper. At 6:30 pm large group worship starts and then at 7:30 pm small groups meet. Come join CR.

One of the many freedoms we are privileged to enjoy in our great country is the ability to attend church and worship freely. If you do not have a church home or are not currently participating in this liberty, we invite you to worship with us at Calhoun Baptist Church. We are striving to live, share, and tell the story of Christ. Come along beside us and be a part. Our Sunday School starts at 10:00 am with a class for every age. Then join us for worship at 11:00 am.
