Church News – July 12th

“If It Is of God . . . “ was the title of the message brought to us by our pastor using Acts 5:17-42 as his bible text. What happens when men try to control what God is doing in the church? The Jewish leaders were indignant and so had the apostles arrested. But, the angel of the Lord told them to keep preaching the words of life and they did. Day after day they never stopped proclaiming and neither should we. If it is of God, who among us should stand in the way?

Makenleigh Hardesty celebrated her birthday on July 13th. Happy birthday to this young lady. There were no anniversaries to celebrate this week.

Please pray for the following people: Edwin Pogue, Ryan Mantonya, Alyson Paul, Robert Stags, Robert Cavah, Scott Calhoun, and baby Timothy Fields. God hears and answers our prayers so pray fervently.

Come and join Celebrate Recovery which meets every Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 pm with supper. At 6:30 pm large group worship starts and then at 7:30 pm small groups meet. This program will help you gain freedom from hurts, hang ups, and habits. Don’t we all have any number of these?

If you do not have a church home or are not currently worshiping in one, we invite you to worship with us at Calhoun Baptist Church. We are striving to live, share, and tell the story of Christ. Come along beside us and be a part. Our Sunday School starts at 10:00 am with a class for every age. Then join us for worship at 11:00 am.
