Church News – November 15th

Sunday we were very fortunate to have with us Terry and Carolyn Routon, missionaries to Haiti. They shared with us customs and facts about the country. The work being done for the Lord in Haiti is critical and the Routon’s clearly have a heart for the Haitian people. We appreciate their sharing insight with us.

Prayer is requested for the Claudean Brown family, Jerry Reiners, Joan Rasmussen, Darlene Fabyanic, Karen Harris, Pat Kampe and Tommy Graham. Praise God for answered prayers.

Gospel Kid’s continues to meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Our lesson this week was Malachi the Prophet from Malachi 1-4. God told His people to repent and get ready for Jesus. Does God keep His promises? Yes. God is always faithful even when we are not. Children in kindergarten through sixth grades are invited to come join in the fun.

Celebrate Recovery is every Sunday evening starting with supper at 5:30 pm followed by large group worship at 6:30 and small groups at 7:30 pm. Last week’s lesson was YES. Y – yield yourself to God; E – example is what is important; S – serve others as Jesus Christ did. “Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth,”1 John 3:18. Come and see for yourself where God is at work.

We are looking forward to our Thanksgiving Dinner and fellowship meal at noon on Sunday, November 17th. Please sign up for food on the bulletin board and make plans to attend.

We invite you to worship with us at Calhoun Baptist Church where we are living, sharing, and telling the story of Christ. Sunday School begins at 10:00 am with a class for every age then Worship follows at 11:00 am. Come and be a part of the body of Christ.
