Church News – September 25th 2020

Picture perfect weather was provided for us as we gathered for worship.  Pastor Mark Abney delivered the sermon, “Christians and Politics”.  He used Romans 13:1-7 as his scripture text.  When making a voting decision you should not ask yourself “Who am I going to vote for” but instead ask yourself “How am I going to vote”.  The answer to this question can be found in the Bible.  Scripture is the final authority.  God is in charge.  He alone sits in the authority seat over all nations.  God will bless a nation that recognizes His word and follows it.

Let us remain vigilant in praying for our children, school personnel, essential workers, healthcare workers, and all involved in our community during this time of COVID.  Pray without ceasing for our country, leaders, and citizens as we make important voting decisions.  God is faithful; he hears and answers our prayers.

Happy September birthdays to David Rima September 4th and Sandra Spooner September 27th.  We wish a happy anniversary to Jeff and Heather Hollinger who celebrated their special day on September 17th.

Celebrate Recovery continues at 5:30 pm on Sunday evenings with a light supper.  Then at 6:30 pm, large group worship starts followed by small groups at 7:30 pm.  This week the lesson was on Forgiveness.  Make direct amends to people whenever possible except when to do so would injure them or others.  Have you accepted Jesus?  Have you forgiven others?  Have you forgiven yourself?  Remember Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”.

Live streaming of our worship service continues at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings.  Check it out by going to our Facebook page and you can worship with us in real-time.  The sermon is also available as a podcast on our website.

Come join us this Sunday morning at 10:00 am for Sunday School and Worship at 11:00 am.  We look forward to greeting you.
