Church News – October 9th

Think about how much time you spend with the Lord.  If you spent that much time with your spouse, what would your relationship be like?  Pastor Mark Abney asked us to consider these thoughts as he delivered the message Christian Complacency from Revelation 3:14-22.  We have become lukewarm – blind to the fact we need Jesus any moment of any day.  We must repent and open up the door of our hearts for the Lord to come into every aspect of our lives.

Please remember to be in prayer for our schools and healthcare workers and all involved in our community during this time of COVID.  Our country, leaders, and citizens are also in need of prayers at this critical time in our nation’s history.  Please specifically mention the names of Caroline Wilson, Naomi Grace, Ashley Wheatley, and Doris Ogan.   We praise God who hears and answers our prayers.

Happy October birthdays to Dan Henry Oct. 2, Charles Brown Oct. 5, and Vernon Kampe  Oct. 6.  We hope your day was blessed.

Celebrate Recovery continues at 5:30 pm on Sunday evenings with a light supper.  Then at 6:30 pm large group worship starts followed by small groups at 7:30 pm.  Grace was the lesson last week.   G – Grace God’s gift, R – Received by our faith, A – Accepted by God’s love, C – Christ paid the price, E – Everlasting gift.  “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9”.

On October 17th we will have a fish fry and hayride beginning at 5 pm.  It should be an enjoyable evening for fellowship.  Plan on attending.

Live streaming of our worship service continues at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings..  Check it out by going to our Facebook page and you can worship with us in real-time.  The sermon is also available as a podcast on our website.

Join us Sunday mornings at 10:00 am for Sunday School and Worship at 11:00 am.  We look forward to greeting you.
