Every day is a good day to worship our LORD. Pastor Mark Abney brought the sermon titled Your Cross using Matthew 16:24 as the biblical text. What does it mean to bear your own cross? In Jesus’ day “taking up the cross” was a death penalty; it meant you were dying. Jesus asks us to die to self and live for him. Most days we go about living our lives for ourselves. Jesus said, “follow me”. It’s not an easy thing to do, but we must deny ourselves and follow Jesus. How do we that? Spend time with Him every day. See everything as spiritual; our home, our job. See your life in Christ; let Him have everything. After all, Jesus paid a huge cost for each one of us.
Our prayer concerns this week are for Martie Henne, Don McAllister, Caroline Wilson, Naomi Grace, Dan Pennock, Doris Ogan, and Abigail Lewis. Please include prayers for our nation and the upcoming Presidential election. Praise be to our God who is always as near as a prayer.
Celebrate Recovery continues on Sunday evenings. Remember to reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for your life. Come join CR at 5:30 pm with a light supper. Then at 6:30 pm, large group worship is followed by small groups at 7:30 pm. Are you having a daily quiet time with God?
