Church News – July 9th 2021

We celebrated the freedoms we enjoy in our country and our freedom in the Lord as we observed the Lord’s Supper.  Peace and Problems was the title of Pastor Mark Abney’s sermon as he continued in the book of Romans.  He used Romans 5: 1-5 as his text.  In these evil days in which we live we need a holy, solid rock-based faith.  God will use your hurt, hangup, or habit to grow your faith.  As we go through this world we will have problems.  God gives us problems for our good to grow our faith.  In this growth, we become reliant on God, and there we will find our peace.

Prayer concerns this week include Phyllis Richardson, Dalton Creach, Abe Kohl, Sandy Paul, Sebastian, Cheryl Davis, Janet Taylor, and Danny Hammer. Thank you, Lord, for hearing and answering our prayers.

Celebrate Recovery continues on Sunday evenings with dinner served at 5:30 pm followed by worship at 6:30 pm.  Small group support begins at 7:30.  This week we listened to the video testimony of a young man who surrendered his life to the Lord after an accident left him in a wheelchair.  What area of your life are you needing to turn over and surrender to Jesus Christ?  Come to CR where you can fellowship with friends and strengthen your resolve to live a victorious life.

Bible School – Plain and Simple is our VBS theme this year. Make plans now to attend.  There will be classes for preschoolers through adults.  What a great experience this will be for the entire family.  Mark it down on your busy summer calendar for Monday through Friday, August 2 – 6.  Come enjoy food, bible stories, crafts, and fellowship.  Let’s learn and grow in the Lord together.

Drive-in, inside, and live streaming of our worship service is available.  To hear the worship service within the city limits tune your radio dial to 93.1 FM.  Live streaming of our service begins at 11:00 am.   Check it out by going to our Facebook page and you can worship with us in real-time.  Pastor Mark’s sermon is also available as a podcast on our website.

Come join us for Sunday School beginning at 10:00 am and Worship at 11:00 am.  We look forward to greeting you.
